A new study by\u00a0Scratch<\/a>\u00a0has revealed which dog names are most beloved by Aussie owners with some new names moving up the list \u2013 and yes, Bella is still going strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study covered all of Australia, all age groups and all level of dogs owned (1, 2 or 3+) for almost 13,000 dog owners comparing our dog stats now to May 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, who came out on top?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luna jumped up four places to take top spot, Bella \u2013 a longtime dog name of the white happy variety \u2013 moved back up seven spaces to take third place, blocked only by Charlie in second.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruby and Buddy each fell three places and a mover and shaker of the popular dog names list, Frankie was a newly added to the top ten. The name Bella is still going strong, making the top ten list but dropping four spots to sixth place. Tilly also jumped up seven spots to round out the top ten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Top Ten Dog Names According To Scratch:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Luna<\/li>
  2. Charlie<\/li>
  3. Buddy<\/li>
  4. Ruby<\/li>
  5. Frankie<\/li>
  6. Bella<\/li>
  7. Archie<\/li>
  8. Molly<\/li>
  9. Daisy<\/li>
  10. Tilly<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The study also looked at our behaviours buying dogs during the pandemic with 45% of respondents obtaining a dog in the past two years. According to the study, the pandemic influenced the decision of 36% of those, 12% of them sometimes regret it,19% were rescued and 58% were brought home from a breeder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And for those who already had a dog? Previously, 22% said they spent all day with their pet but since the pandemic this has doubled to 44%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
