Eliot&#8217;s poem <em>Old Possum\u2019s Book of Practical Cats<\/em>).\n\nOscar winner Jennifer Hudson as Grizabella the Glamour Cat, stage and screen legend Ian McKellen as Gus the Theatre Cat, Tony winner James Corden as Bustopher Jones, Tony and Oscar winner Dame Judi Dench as Old Deuteronomy, Rebel Wilson as Jennyanydots, Jason Derulo as Rum Tum Tugger, Robert Fairchild as Munkustrap, Mette Towley as Jemima, Idris Elba as Macavity, and Royal Ballet&#8217;s Francesca Hayward and Steven McRae as Victoria and Skimbleshanks.\n\nFun fact: Judi was cast in the 1981 OG production of the musical but had to pull out due to an ankle injury.&nbsp;\n<blockquote><em>&#8220;I thought that was my history with \u2018Cats&#8217;&nbsp;<\/em>\n\n<em>&#8220;But it turns out not to be.&#8221;<\/em><\/blockquote>\nIMDB says the film will tell the story a group of felines called the Jellicles, at the moment they must decide which of them is to be reborn.&nbsp;\n\nThe first trailer will be out this Friday and we are hanging out to see the technology to create a digital fur covering on hthe actors.\n\nFor all of you non-musical theatre geeks out there, we&#8217;re sure you&#8217;re wondering, what&#8217;s a Jellicle cat?
