{"id":2345,"date":"2018-12-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/uncategorised\/psa-book-mormon-has-set-its-sydney-closing-date\/"},"modified":"2018-12-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-12-11T00:00:00","slug":"psa-book-mormon-has-set-its-sydney-closing-date","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/stage\/psa-book-mormon-has-set-its-sydney-closing-date\/","title":{"rendered":"PSA: The Book of Mormon has set its Sydney closing date"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PSA: <em>The Book of Mormon<\/em> has set its Sydney closing date<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s sooner than you might think<\/p>\n<p>Following a record-breaking season in Sydney, <em>The Book of Mormon <\/em>has announced it will be leaving the Sydney Lyric Theatre on Friday 8 February 2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The final Sydney show will come almost a year after <em>The Book of Mormon<\/em> opened in the Lyric Theatre and two years since it first hit our shores in Melbourne.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But the musical isn\u2019t leaving completely as it is due for at least two more seasons, moving to Brisbane\u2019s QPAC from 16 March followed by the Festival Theatre, Adelaide from 27 June 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre album and four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical, <em>The Book of Mormon<\/em> set a record for the highest grossing on-sale of any musical theatre production in Sydney\u2019s history with more than 45,000 tickets sold by the end of the first day of public sales, and is the highest grossing musical in the Princess Theatre\u2019s 159-year history in Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>So it\u2019s safe to say the show has been a raging success.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you want in on the action before it departs, then make sure you book your tickets A.S.A.P.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Sydney tickets will go on sale on 17 December from <a href=\"https:\/\/bookofmormonmusical.com.au\/ticketing\/sydney\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BookOfMormonMusical.com.au<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Book of Mormon will be in Brisbane\u2019s QPAC Theatre from 16 March 2019 and then at the Adelaide Festival Centre from 27 June 2019.
