{"id":2961,"date":"2018-08-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-08-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/uncategorised\/paul-walkers-mum-details-last-conversation-son\/"},"modified":"2018-08-01T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-08-01T00:00:00","slug":"paul-walkers-mum-details-last-conversation-son","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/entertainment\/paul-walkers-mum-details-last-conversation-son\/","title":{"rendered":"Paul Walker&#8217;s mum details last heartbreaking conversation she had with her son"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Paul Walker was planning to decorate a Christmas tree with his daughter just before his car crash death in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The late actor was killed when the Porsche Carrera GT he was a passenger in crashed and burst into flames on 30 November, hours after his last phone conversation with his mother.<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl Walker tells People magazine her son was full of the Christmas spirit and looking forward to hanging out with his daughter, Meadow, now 19.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;We were having this good conversation, and he&#8217;d forgotten about an event he had,&#8221; she recalls. &#8220;He got a text and said, &#8216;Oh my gosh, I&#8217;m supposed to be somewhere&#8217;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I think so many people think, &#8216;Oh, he was just a movie star who was killed in a car accident&#8217;, but there was so much more to him. That was just a piece of who he was. He was an amazing man.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Cheryl is speaking to the media ahead of the release of a new TV documentary about her son, titled I Am Paul Walker.<\/p>\n<p>She tells People the messages from her son&#8217;s fans really helped her heal following his death almost five years ago:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;I&#8217;ve gotten letters from people all over the world who said he made a difference in their lives,&#8221; she smiles. &#8220;That is such a blessing. He&#8217;s never forgotten.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0eL_cLqaMX0\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>I Am Paul Walker will also feature home videos from his childhood and interviews with the tragic star&#8217;s friends and colleagues, including his Fast and Furious franchise co-star Tyrese Gibson, and director Rob Cohen.<\/p>\n<p>The documentary premieres on the Paramount Network in the U.S. on 11 August.
