{"id":3002,"date":"2018-07-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/uncategorised\/yellow-wiggle-emma-watkins-opens-about-endometriosis\/"},"modified":"2018-07-23T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-07-23T00:00:00","slug":"yellow-wiggle-emma-watkins-opens-about-endometriosis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/entertainment\/yellow-wiggle-emma-watkins-opens-about-endometriosis\/","title":{"rendered":"Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins opens up about endometriosis battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Emma Watkins aka The Yellow Wiggle has opened up about her struggles with endometriosis with&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.com.au\/health\/body\/emma-watkins-yellow-wiggle-endometriosis-recovery-49959\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Australian Women&#8217;s Weekly<\/a>,<\/em>&nbsp;less than one year after her surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Kathryn, Emma&#8217;s mum, joined her for the interview with the magazine, explaining that while her daughter is back on tour with the children&#8217;s group, her recovery is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>She spoke at length about how amazed she is by Emma&#8217;s energy and dedication:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;She&#8217;s always been one for doing seven things in one day,&#8221; she told the publication.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Nothing is impossible for Emma. If you can&#8217;t ride a horse, no problem, let&#8217;s learn on the weekend! If she wants to relax after a show, she&#8217;ll do an Irish dance class.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Even on tour, while the boys watch TV to unwind, she&#8217;ll be making garlands of flowers. I think that&#8217;s why she got the job in the first place with The Wiggles. They need a drummer? No problem!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Even the day before her surgery she did three concerts, and then flew home that night. There wasn&#8217;t any extra consideration for her being a girl.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;She&#8217;d have to get changed in bathrooms and hallways, do her own make-up, wash her clothes out in the venue, drive all night in the bus, squashed like a sardine, to do two shows the next day. Plus she&#8217;s the one who smooths things over and glues everyone together.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Emma is doing much better according to the publication, spending weekends with husband and Purple Wiggle Lachy at the Watkins family home.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;When we&#8217;re at home, we just want to be with our families,&#8221; she explained.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Our mums miss us a lot, so we spend time with them and our nephews and nieces.
