The broadcast legend opened up on the rule-breaking Australian wine culture, and recounted special memories bonding with mates around a fire while enjoying a nice drop of his favourite tipple.<\/p>\n
“I think selling wines on the experience is something Australians would do. Probably wouldn’t be done in Europe in that sense. They’re more defined by the wine. So I think it’s one of those lovely things where we break the rules. Wine is a great thing to break the rules for and do what you want to do. Because it tastes great”.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The radio veteran, who co-hosts the More Music Breakfast show on smoothfm 95.3 with the accomplished Bogart Tonelli, also shared a special moment retreating to a farm with longstanding high-school mates.<\/p>\n
I’ve got two classmates that I’ve went to high school with. One of them has got a farm up…in the central west. It’s a lovely retreat for all of us. We generally go up on the Queen’s birthday, long weekend in June… and for me [favourite moment in wine] it’s sitting around the fire pit, outside…freezing cold…. and we drink red wine. Generally, the heavier ones. It’s nothing special, it’s not even a celebration of any particular occasion, but….you can see the stars and it’s cold…you’ve got the right clothes on…enjoying red wine around the fire telling stories…reminiscing, and doing all that sort of stuff. That’s the memories I like.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
