Alice&nbsp;had originally&nbsp;been in arrested and placed into a federal facility&nbsp;for more than 21 years after being found guilty in connection to a drug trafficking conspiracy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/politics-news\/alice-marie-johnson-my-release-prison-was-miracle-n880831\" target=\"_blank\">NBC<\/a> report she is&nbsp;one of the thousands of Americans serving life sentences for nonviolent offenses.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is REALLY the front page of today\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypost?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@nypost<\/a>.<br><br>WELCOME to the Twilight Zone. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rKHSzA1dUL\">pic.twitter.com\/rKHSzA1dUL<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Bishop Talbert Swan (@TalbertSwan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TalbertSwan\/status\/1002153388132524032?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 31, 2018<\/a><\/blockquote>&#13;\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<p>Proving the world-changing power of an influencer, just days after Kim spoke with Trump and posted a petition on her Twitter, Alice was released.<\/p>\n<p>But not everyone is happy about it.<\/p>\n<p>Including&nbsp;<em>The Project&nbsp;<\/em>hosts Carrie Bickmore and Waleed Aly.<\/p>\n<p>The hosts discussed the story on the series with Waleed saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cShe\u2019s actually achieved nothing, she\u2019s achieved something for one person in one case \u2026 I reckon this is awful.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cYou now have a president who effectively thinks he can do things by pardons. That\u2019s the way he operates.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEverything goes through him. I\u2019ll just make a decision, \u2018you\u2019re saved, you\u2019re not. You\u2019re free, you go to hell.\u2019 That\u2019s the way it works [but] that the opposite of the way it\u2019s supposed to work.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" style=\"width: 100%;
