We had no idea stewardesses didn\u2019t eat on planes.<\/p>\n

What on earth do they do to pass the time?<\/p>\n\n

Well that\u2019s the thing, they don\u2019t eat at all because apparently that\u2019s the key to solving jet lag – empty stomachs. <\/p>\n

Melissa Biggs Bradley, who founded luxury travel firm Indagare, recently shared her travel hacks with Bloomberg.<\/p>\n\n

According to Biggs Bradley, eating while flying can be a sure-fire way to get hit by the dreaded jet lag.<\/p>\n

\u201cI eat nothing on flights. I\u2019ve talked to a lot of stewardesses about it, and it\u2019s a stewardess secret.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cBasically, at superhigh altitude, your digestive system shuts down completely. Someone said to me it\u2019s like being under anaesthesia.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cSo when you get off the plane, everything restarts and [your digestive system] has so much more work to do and so it makes you more tired.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Apparently, even the tastiest food is oversalted and preserved. <\/p>\n

Biggs Bradley suggests drinking a lot of water.<\/p>\n
