We know what you’re thinking, ‘shocker!’ but stick with us.<\/p>\n

While we sighed and squeed over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle<\/a>, we have to admit there was a little something in the back of our heads that wouldn’t stop”<\/p>\n

How much of this is a performance?<\/p>\n

The fact that Meghan<\/a> is a professional actress seems to have been lost among the pomp and splendor but now that the hullabaloo has calmed down, questions have started up again.<\/p>\n

case in point: the photo at the centre of discussion is from February but only being thrown into question now.<\/p>\n

Appearing with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Kate and Wills) at a joint charity event (her first in fact), Meghan can be observed sitting in a very particular way.<\/p>\n

People Magazine<\/a> report the position as the “Duchess slant”, a term coined by Beaumont Etiquette and named after the Duchess of Cambridge. <\/p>\n

\u201cTypically \u2018the Duchess Slant\u2019 is used when a lady has to sit for an extended amount of time while keeping poise and posture,\u201d Myka Meier, royal etiquette expert and founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette, told People<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the perfect pose for when a camera is shooting directly in front of you because by slightly slanting the knees to create a zig-zag effect when wearing a dress or skirt, your legs are angled so that the camera only shoots the sides of your legs and protects your modesty.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She added that the posture also makes your legs look longer so… bonus!<\/p>\n

There is certainly an argument to be made that this particular brand of etiquette was less of a choice than a prerequesite for being with Harry but… knows?<\/p>\n
