If you\u2019ve been keeping up with the Markles, you\u2019ll be aware that there has been some controversy surrounding Meghan Markle<\/a>\u2019s father Thomas. <\/a><\/p>\n\n

The 73-year-old man became caught up in a media storm after allegedly being caught staging paparazzi photos and on Thursday night Ms Markle released a statement confirming that her father would not be attending the wedding after undergoing major surgery. <\/p>\n\n

The public has been shown a fairly unflattering image of Mr Markle in recent weeks, however, Ms Markle\u2019s statement and comments from her school teachers show a different side.<\/p>\n

In the statement released by Kensington Palace on behalf of Ms Markle, she told the public, \u201cI have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Similarly, Markle\u2019s school teacher, Christine Knudsen, told CBC<\/em> that Mr Markle was a very loving and attentive father, news.com.au <\/a>reports:  <\/p>\n

\u201cShe was very close to him,\u201d she said. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cOut of the kindness of his heart, he would come for our own plays and musicals, and he would help with the lighting.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cSo you\u2019d just see him walking around. You knew who he was. He was just a kind and generous man. And even after Meghan graduated, he still came back to help.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
