If there\u2019s one event you go to this summer, make it Sydney Festival.<\/p>\n

The three week-long celebration of culture and country will encompass art installations, a gravity-defying circus, and performances across theatre, music, and dance – with a focus on coming together.<\/p>\n

The spectacular will take over Sydney from the 8th until the 26th of January, with tons of incredible installations to delight all ages.<\/p>\n

Among the highlights is Proclamation, a breathtaking flag installation by Aboriginal artist Jacob Nash, Dodecalis Luminarium, an immense labyrinth of winding paths and electric domes, and Laser Beak Man, a rollicking puppet show voiced by ABC presenter Leigh Sales.<\/p>\n

Festival Director, Wesley Enoch, says gathering as a community is especially significant in the midst of the bushfire crisis.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur hearts go out to our fellow Australians. We are acutely aware of the situation confronting many of us right now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are seeing unprecedented fires and loss. This is a terrible time in the history of our Land.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt times like this, the importance of gathering as a community is self-evident, and I firmly believe that artists, and the arts, play a vital role in giving us strength and supporting resilience  \u2013 stepping up to help tell our stories, to make sense of our collective experiences, and to lift our spirits when we so desperately need it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
