Anyone who’s ever nabbed an upgrade – or even scrounged enough to purchase something other than cattle class – knows how damn luxurious those glorious seats are.<\/p>\n

And how much we’d kill<\/s> love to experience it again.<\/p>\n

Good news friends. A jet-setting author has revealed how to get yourself into that seat once again.<\/p>\n

Author Tilly Bagshawe says that many of her 160,000 kilometers of air travel a year have been flown in the best class of airline cabin thanks to a conversation around the words, ‘revenue management.’<\/p>\n

Tilly told Bloomberg<\/a> that ahead of her flights, she calls the reservations team and asks, “Have revenue management released any first-class seats for miles upgrades yet?”<\/em><\/p>\n

“When they say no, ask them to check or just be put through to revenue management so you can ask when they will release some, as well as how many seats are left.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The author then politely asks something along the lines of, ‘You have 20 seats unsold? Why aren\u2019t you releasing them?’.<\/p>\n

She claims that by the end of the conversation, the person on the end of the phone has almost certainly released an upper class seat for her.<\/p>\n

That being said, Tilly has conceded that it seems the airline favours the most loyal customers. For her, this is Virgin Atlantic.<\/p>\n

It can be as simple as that folks.<\/p>\n
