You see, the singer has recently been spotted after losing a reported 45-odd kilograms prompting fans to ask: HOW?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/PopBase\/status\/1226944782850613248\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/01\/07\/the-sirtfood-diet-what-to-know-about-adeles-weight-loss-secret\/\" target=\"_blank\">apparently her weight loss<\/a> is largely due thanks to the Sirtfood Diet &#8211; with a hearty helping of exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Healthline, the Sirtfood Diet is based on sirtuins (SIRTs), a group of seven proteins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Writing for <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/eprints.hud.ac.uk\/id\/eprint\/27113\/1\/Is%20there%20really%20any%20science%20behind%20the%20Sirtfood%20diet_.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">The Conversation<\/a>, Matthew Haines, Senior Lecturer in Health and Wellbeing, University of Huddersfield, explains more:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Sirtuins contribute to regulation of fat and glucose metabolism in response to changes in energy levels,&#8221; he writes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;They might also play a part in the effect of calorie restriction on improvements&#8221; &#8211; the diet involves cycles of 1,000 and 1,500 calories day, well below the recommended 2,000 for women.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-gif aligncenter\">\n\t\t<figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-gif-wrapper\" style=\"padding-top:110%\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<iframe src=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/sYma346DicoSI\" title=\"adele\"><\/iframe>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Haines goes on to explain that sirtuins boast the ability to lower reactive oxygen species (free radicals) and increase antioxidant enzymes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sirtfood options include kale, red wine, strawberries, walnuts, tumeric, buckwheat, soy, parsley, blueberries coffee, onions, soy and dark chocolate (the 85 per cent cocoa version) and more. These options are cycled through two phases across three weeks total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Phase One lasts seven days and involves a LOT of green juice and severe calorie restriction &#8211;  just one Sirtfood-approved meal a day and three juices. Phase Two lasts two weeks and involves three Sirtfood-approved meals and one juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/sirtfood-diet#section2\" target=\"_blank\">Healthline<\/a> also explains that while the diet can help people lost weight initially (again, a 1,000 calorie limit will do that to you), there is not enough evidence to support it in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, long story short, the jury is out on this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Image: Instagram \/ @adele<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adele has been making some crazy headlines lately.
