Britain\u2019s leading light meets Australia\u2019s rising star in an electrifying program of innovative dance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Volt<\/strong> is modern dance at lightning speed, and it\u2019s coming to Arts Centre Melbourne March 13 to 24. Volt showcases three one-act ballets, including Wayne McGregor\u2019s <em>Chroma<\/em>, <em>Dyad 1929<\/em>, and <em>Logos<\/em> in collaboration with The Australian Ballet\u2019s resident choreographer, Alice Topp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more than a decade, Wayne McGregor has been performing fierce and thrilling experiments on ballet, taking it next-level with punk pecks and twitches, whip-lash spines, warp-speed leaps and hyper-stretched lines. Alice Topp, first worked with McGregor on the creation of&nbsp;<em>Dyad 1929<\/em>, and later performed in his&nbsp;<em>Chroma<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Infra<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Chroma<\/em> places the dancers at the centre of a kinetic whirlwind, set to the music of The White Stripes. In&nbsp;<em>Dyad 1929<\/em>&nbsp;the dancers, sharply lit and set in a crisp background of black dots on white, seem to race Steve Reich\u2019s full-tilt, Pulitzer-Prize-winning score&nbsp;<em>Double Sextet<\/em>&nbsp;to the finish line. Topp\u2019s work <em>Logos <\/em>is set to the music of Ludovico Einaudi, a work about armouring ourselves against modern demons.  McGregor.
