Hopefully that restriction will change.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>Nine had explored the possibility of a spin-off around Gary Sweet\u2019s Lewis Crabb but opted not to proceed, concluding with 58 episodes.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes after Nine pulled the plug on Love Child, starring Jessica Marais.<\/p>\n<p>Channel Seven&#8217;s <a href=\"\/entertainment\/channel-seven-axes-secret-daughter-starring-jessica-mauboy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Secret Daughter<\/em><\/a> has also reportedly been axed.<\/p>\n<p>Aussie producer John Edwards told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-5186155\/The-Secret-Daughter-AXED-signal-death-AUS-dramas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> that he feels a lot of the problems with Aussie dramas come from a fear to push boundaries:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI think there is a fear of breaking new ground at the moment,\u201d he said. \u201cA paradigm-shift will come from a good show.
