On Wednesday we reported that Tiffiny Hall was our spirit guide in this crazy thing called life<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And while we 100 per cent still believe this and would still like to be BFFs (keen Tiff?), we’d like to introduce you to spirit guide #2, Ellen Pompeo.<\/p>\n

The Greys Anatomy <\/em>star has kept it refreshingly real in her latest interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> <\/em>speaking about her Grey’s <\/em>salary, asking for what she wants and former co-star Patrick Dempsey.<\/p>\n

First up, a shocking realisation:<\/p>\n

Ellen Pompeo said, “Are you out of your f**kin’ mind?” when given the Grey’s <\/em>script.<\/p>\n

That’s right. You could have missed out of Ellen’s Meredith Grey.<\/p>\n

She was also adament that she wasn’t going to be “stuck on a medical show for five years,” which as you know turned into 14 years and an aweome career poking things with other metal things (okay fine, we’re not up on the jargon).<\/p>\n

It actually turns out Grey’s <\/i>was one of the greatest things to happen to Ellen as 14 years of solid work and dedication have become an ability to ask for what she deserves.<\/p>\n

And by what she deserves’ we mean $575,000 per episode.<\/p>\n

“…I’m not the most ‘relevant’ actress out there,” Pompeo said. “I know that’s the industry perception because I’ve been this character for 14 years. But the truth is, anybody can be good on a show Season 1 and 2. Can you be good 14 years later? Now, that’s a f**kin’ skill.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

If you’re doing the math at home, it’s 20 million p.a. making her the highest paid actress on a primetime drama according to Buzzfeed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ellen believes this wouldn’t have been possible without Patrick Dempsey’s exit from the show in 2015. In fact, she’s called it a “defining moment, deal-wise,” <\/em>saying the show even experienced a “ratings spike, and I had a nice chuckle about that.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“We don’t need you; we have Patrick,” Pompeo said she had been told by executives for years.<\/em><\/p>\n

“I don’t know if they also did that to him, because he and I never discussed our deals. There were many times where I reached out about joining together to negotiate, but he was never interested in that.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
