On Saturday night, news broke that the original James Bond, Sir Sean Connery had sadly passed away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 90-year-old reportedly passed away peacefully in his sleep and surrounded by family after being \u201cill for some time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following Sean Connery\u2019s death, tributes have poured in from family, friends and those who idolised him far and wide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current James Bond,<\/a> Daniel Craig, has led the tributes, calling “one of the true greats of cinema”.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Sir Sean Connery will be remembered as Bond and so much more,” Craig writes. “He defined an era and a style. The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster.\u00a0<\/p>

“He will continue to influence actors and film-makers alike for years to come. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. Wherever he is, I hope there is a golf course.”\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Sir Sean Connery\u2019s granddaughter has also shared a touching tribute to her grandad, calling him her \u201cbest friend.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA surreal goodbye to my best friend, mentor and dear grandfather. Please respect my families privacy while we process this news,\u201d Saskia Connery shared on her Instagram, alongside some intimate photos of her and her dear grandad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as Daniel Craig and Saskia, other celebrities have flocked to pay tribute to the late Sean Connery. Hugh Jackman<\/a> and Salma Hayek have also paid tribute to the late movie legend.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Australian star tweeted: “I grew up idolizing #Sean Connery. A legend on screen, and off. Rest in Peace.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
