{"id":4285,"date":"2018-01-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-01-16T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/uncategorised\/sydney-train-employees-announce-theyll-be-striking-24-hours\/"},"modified":"2020-01-09T02:07:38","modified_gmt":"2020-01-09T02:07:38","slug":"sydney-train-employees-announce-theyll-be-striking-24-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/news\/sydney-train-employees-announce-theyll-be-striking-24-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney Train workers announce they\u2019ll be striking for 24 hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In breaking news this afternoon, employees for Sydney Trains have announced that they will be going on a 24-hour strike from work in response to an ongoing pay dispute, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.9news.com.au\/national\/2018\/01\/16\/15\/55\/sydney-train-workers-to-go-on-24-hour-strike\"><em>Nine News<\/em><\/a> reports.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, a representative for the group shared:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cUnfortunately, on reflection overnight we have decided that we will actually take a 24-hour stoppage and that will take place on the 29th of January,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBasically the trains will go to bed on <\/em><em>the Sunday night<\/em><em> and they won\u2019t come out on <\/em><em>the Monday morning<\/em><em>.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe have always tried to run the system as best as we can. We just won\u2019t stand here and cop the crap that he\u2019s throwing at us when it falls over.
