Home and Away <\/em>star Jessica Falkholt is still in a critical condition following the horrific car accident that killed her parents Lars and Vivian Falkholt, and her sister Annabelle. And while Lars, Vivian and Annabelle are being laid to rest today, it’s still unknown how Jessica is recovering from her injuries. <\/p>\n

Fighting for life in the Intensive Care Unit at St George Hospital, Jessica’s family has been by her side ever since the accident and have been told by her surgeons that the actress’ recovery is now a “waiting game”. <\/em><\/p>\n

A family member told Daily Mail<\/a>:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re not going to know much about Jessica’s real condition for a while… The neurosurgeon came in and he just said the operation went well and it’s just a waiting game.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cShe could be in a coma for weeks or even months, she still has all the swelling <\/em>on<\/em> her brain. They haven’t even been able to test her brain yet. They’ll probably have to wait a week or two now and see how she responds to the surgery.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jessica has had several surgeries including the removal of a kidney and part of her skull. <\/p>\n

Damage on the left side of the brain can potentially impact on a person’s personality or memory. Her family is also trying to figure out how to tell her she was the sole survivor of the accident. <\/p>\n

The other driver was Craig Anthony Whitall, a serial driving offender, who was also killed in the smash. It’s believed he was driving home from the methadone clinic with an investigation taking place on whether he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash. <\/p>\n

Donations to Redkite were requested in lieu of flowers. <\/p>\n
