John Farnham\u2019s family has provided an update on the beloved musician after it was revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer and rushed to hospital for surgery and treatment. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farnham\u2019s wife Jill and sons Rob and James released a statement obtained by The Guardian<\/a><\/em> this morning, revealing that the cancerous tumour in John\u2019s mouth had been successfully removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family added that John is currently in a stable condition in the ICU and will \u201cremain in hospital for a period of time for recovery and post operative treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJohn has been through an eleven-and-a-half hour surgery in Melbourne yesterday and is now in a stable condition in ICU. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe cancerous tumour was located in his mouth and it has been successfully removed. There is still a long road of recovery and healing ahead of us, but we know John is up for that task,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John\u2019s family also thanked the overwhelming amount of support from the healthcare professionals, as well as the many, many, Australians – including smoothfm’s very own Richard Wilkins and David Campbell – who sent their love and best wishes to them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
