International popstar and former Pussycat Doll, Melody Thornton, has been crowned the winner of The Masked Singer Australia.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American singer spun into the coveted title ahead of Snapdragon, who was unmasked as Sheldon Riley, and Rooster, who was revealed as Hugh Sheridan.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheldon Riley, who represented Australia at Eurovision this year, came in second place with Aussie Actor Hugh Sheridan coming in third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For her final performance, Mirrorball\u2019s reflective rendition of Donna Summers\u2019 Last Dance had the judges as confused as ever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mel B was certain Mirrorball was Aussie singer, Samantha Jade, Chrissie Swan hedged her bets on Nicole Richie, Abbie Chatfield locked in the fabulous Hilary Duff and Dave Hughes stunned the panel with his first correct guess of the season, insisting Mirrorball was Melody Thornton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked to describe her experience on The Masked Singer Australia,<\/em> Melody said: \u201cIt was just so nice to have lovely comments, and encouragement as well, to bring this character to life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis really helped my relationship with myself. It brought me closer to myself. [Ultimately], you sing because you want other people to be inspired to sing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked why Hugh Sheridan decided to take part in The Masked Singer Australia, <\/em>he said: “What drew me to The Masked Singer<\/em> was the entertainment factor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact that this is a fun show. It\u2019s my sister\u2019s favourite show, my nephew\u2019s favourite show. And I realised, everyone loves it. Last year I had a bunch of friends die, including my Dad\u2026 I wanted to do something fun, and I also wanted to do something to cheer up my family. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Runner-up Sheldon became emotional when reflecting on his experience with the show, in particular, his journey from feeling the need to wear a mask to finally being brave enough to take it off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheldon said: “It\u2019s been a really long road for me. I was diagnosed with Asperger\u2019s as a kid, so people always worried about me\u2026 It wasn\u2019t until this show that I realised that I need to be so proud of my talent, and really show people that I don\u2019t need a mask to do what I do!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
