Bindi Irwin<\/a> has undergone major surgery and revealed she\u2019s been suffering from a gruelling health battle with Endometriosis for ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those of you unaware, Endometriosis – as defined by Endometriosis Australia<\/a> – is \u201ca common disease where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows outside it in other parts of the body.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSymptoms are variable and this may contribute to the 6.5 year delay in diagnosis. Common symptoms include pelvic pain that puts life on hold around or during a person\u2019s period. It can impact fertility for some but not for all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite pondering her decision to share this journey with the public, Bindi reveals that it came down to the \u201cresponsibility\u201d she feels to share her story for other women who need help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wildlife conservationist opened up about her private health battle in an Instagram<\/a> post. She coupled the personalised letter to her followers with a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
