{"id":72586,"date":"2023-04-24T07:23:57","date_gmt":"2023-04-23T21:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/?p=72586"},"modified":"2023-04-24T07:26:37","modified_gmt":"2023-04-23T21:26:37","slug":"these-are-the-unparalleled-best-anzac-biccies-if-youd-like-a-bake-off-moment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/lifestyle\/food-drink\/these-are-the-unparalleled-best-anzac-biccies-if-youd-like-a-bake-off-moment\/","title":{"rendered":"These Are The Unparalleled &#8216;Best&#8217; Anzac Biccies If You&#8217;d Like A Bake Off Moment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re anything like us, you love a good home <em>Bake Off <\/em>moment and what better way to go for culinary gold than with a good ol&#8217; fashion <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.smooth.com.au\/lifestyle\/food-drink\/celebrate-anzac-day-with-this-easy-anzac-biscuit-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anzac biscuit<\/a> recipe? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And not just any recipe, but the &#8216;best&#8217; apparently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The good people over at <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womensweeklyfood.com.au\/recipes\/best-anzac-biscuits-recipe-28575\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Australian Women&#8217;s Weekly<\/a> <\/em>have shared the recipe, again dubbed the &#8216;best&#8217; (and triple tested), so grab your golden syrup and let&#8217;s put it to the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>125 grams (4oz) butter, chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tablespoons golden syrup or treacle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tablespoons boiling water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup (90g) rolled oats <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup (150g) plain (all-purpose) flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup (220g) firmly packed brown sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3\/4 cup (60g) desiccated coconut<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat oven to 180\u00b0C\/350\u00b0F. Grease two large oven trays; line with baking paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir butter and syrup in a medium saucepan over low heat until smooth. Stir in combined soda and the water, then remaining ingredients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls; place 5cm (2in) apart on lined trays, then flatten slightly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bake for 12 minutes or until golden. Cool biscuits on trays.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">P.S. The folks at AWW have also recommend home bakers spray their measuring spoon\/s with a little cooking oil spray before scooping up the golden syrup.
