Michael Culver, best known for playing Captain Lorth Needa in Star Wars<\/a>: The Emperor Strikes Back and Sherlock Holmes, has died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news broke in a statement shared by the British actor\u2019s agency, Alliance Agents, on Facebook<\/a> where they praised Michael for his 50-year career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alliance Agents did not reveal what caused the star\u2019s death. However, The Daily Mail <\/a>reports the actor had been battling with poor health for quite some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are very sad to confirm the passing of our friend and client Michael Culver,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA career spanning over 50 years with notable roles in Sherlock Holmes, A Passage to India, Secret Army and of course one of the most memorable death scenes in the Star Wars franchise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMichael largely gave up acting in the early 2000’s to concentrate his efforts into his political activism. It’s been an honor to have represented Michael for [sic] for the last decade and to have taken him to some of the best Star Wars events in the UK and Europe. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA real highlight was taking Michael to Celebration in Chicago in 2019. He was lost for words when he saw his queue line with nearly 200 people waiting to see him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe worked with Michael just 3 weeks ago at his last home signing with our friends at Elite Signatures. Michel [sic] died on Tuesday 27th February at the age of 85.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe miss him,\u201d the statement ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tributes have poured in for Michael Culver, with many taking to Twitter to praise the actor for his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are saddened to report that actor Michael Culver has passed away at the age of 85.

Culver was best know to Star Wars fans for portraying Captain Lorth Needa in \u2018The Empire Strikes Back\u2019.
